There has been so much happening in the last month I have completely forgotten to post.  Not that anybody reads it, but you know.  Good habits and all.  Posting shall resume!

The SCBWI Western Washington 2008 Conference was phenomenal.  It ended two days ago and I’m still sorting out all of the information and events.  It was fantastic.  I met so many wonderful people and took away so much useful information.  Being on the Advisory Committee changed my whole experience, and it was great to feel like I was a part of something so wonderful.  I’m still reeling and processing everything.

Others, most notably our wonderful faculty like Newbery Honor winner Cynthia Lord, the lovely Laini Taylor, her funny husband Jim Di Bartolo, and agent extraordinaire Kate Schafer, have already described the conference beautifully- and with pictures!

Really great things are happening, but I feel a little superstitious about talking about them.  I think I’m going to focus this blog on general kid lit, and not so much on myself.

More later.

I write stories for kids while volunteering as the Assistant Regional Advisor and Conference Coordinator for the western Washington chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

I live in Seattle with my family and a small zoo of animals. I drink copious amounts of coffee and assign complicated life stories to passing strangers. I'm currently working on a middle grade novel.

There's a wee bit more on my website. You can also follow me on twitter.
